The Adventures Continue

The train we were on terminated at a stop earlier than our destination (due to track repairs) so we decided to stroll deep in the heart of the old East Berlin. We came across an old Jewish cemetery and lapidarium but there were no English signs so it was hard to tell what, if anything, was original and survived the war and what has been created post-war. We will have to do some online research later.

We then walked through an area being gentrified and with no tourists and came across the Prater beer garden (established in 1837). It only opens at noon but we may return. The area we are in is either Pankow or Prenzlauer Berg. None of the shops are international flagship stores so it is an interesting and unique area.
